How to clean and care for your Cougar Shoes.

Materials

Suede

Use a suede brush to remove dirt and salt stains. Avoid using detergents or spot-cleaners, as they can lead to un-even colour fading.

Our ‘Always Waterproof’ line of leather products are pre-treated with special waterproofing chemicals during the tanning process. We recommend applying a light layer of shoe leather conditioner after each cleaning to help maintain the colour and condition of the leather uppers.

Please note that applying leather conditioners or other waterproofing products may darken the colour of your boots.

Leather

Wipe away dirt and grime with a damp cloth. Avoid using detergents or spot-cleaners, as they can lead to un-even colour fading.

Nylon

Neoprene

Our Neoprene is made from anti-microbial material that stops the growth of bacteria to keep your feet feeling fresh.

Remove dirt with a damp cloth. If your boots are damp due to heavy activity or weather, blow-dry the interior of the boots while keeping them upright.

Synthetic

Wipe away scuffs, dirt and grime with a damp cloth. Avoid scrubbing or soaking man-made uppers, as this may weaken or damage the material.

Temperature Ratings

The insulation of your Cougar Shoes product has been laboratory tested to determine their resistance to heat loss and their ability to keep your feet warm.

The temperature rating of our boots and shoes is based on your degree of activity and the rate of blood circulation in your feet. Because of these considerations, our temperature ratings are to be used as a guideline and are not covered under our warranty.

Temperature Rating → -10°C / 14°F -24°C / -11°F -30°C / -22°F -40°C / -40°F

We recommend wearing wool socks to maintain warm dry feet in cold weather. Wool naturally wicks moisture and keeps a layer of dry air next to the skin. This helps to hold in body heat.

Avoid wearing cotton socks as they retain moisture and have less natural insulation, making your foot feel colder.
